Preparation 20 min, cooking 30 min.

Ingredients

  • 100 g red lentils
  • 100 g pearl barley
  • 1 medium red onion
  • 1 medium carrot
  • 2 large mushrooms
  • 1 tp olive oil
  • 600 g potatoes
  • 2 tsp margarine
  • 1 tsp Hungarian pepper
  • 30 g rolled oats
  • 150 ml vegetable stock
  • 1 1/2 tsp barley malt extract or marble syrup
  • salt and black pepper
  • some fresh parsley

This isn’t a Scottish recipe, but in the late summer we fancied a little bit of Italian in our life! So we created this colourful salad, perfect for a picnic.

Tibbermore Church

Tibbermore is a small village near Perth and Tibbermore Parish Church dates from 1632. The Graveyard contains many monuments of interest e.g. the memorial of James Ritchie.

In front of the church is a beautiful old archway. You can enjoy peace and silence at the graveyard. The church is normally closed, but it opens by arrangement e.g. for wedding or funerals.
